Statenice has an ideal location. You are in an oasis of peace but close to everywhere. The same goes for excursions that you can plan for every week and will certainly not get tired of. You can go by bike to Okoř, or to the Šárecký valley, or to Divoká Šárka. For a walk, we recommend the Housle Nature Park in Lysolaje, where you can refresh yourself with water from a miraculous well. If you want to do more sport, head towards Suchdol, through Kozí hřbety, into the Tichý údolí valley, enjoy the views from the Alšova vyhlídka (hill) and around Únětice brewery, preferably with a stop for one cold one, and you'll be home again in no time.
PLACES WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED
We have personally explored the area around Statenice more than once, we have been to these places several times in all seasons and the beauty and atmosphere with the positive energy they exude never cease to amaze us.
ALŠOVA VYHLÍDKA (viewpoint)
The Aleš viewpoint can be found less than 5 km above the lower pond in Únětice. Take good footwear, the final hike is challenging, but the view of the surroundings is worth it any time of the year.
Okoř is a famous castle ruin, about 5.5 km northwest of AURA Statenice. This castle, now a cultural monument, was founded in the second half of the 13th century. During the spring and summer months, period events such as performances by knightly associations are held in the ruins. The meadow adjacent to the castle ruins is the site of the popular open-air festival Festival Okoř, which takes place every year in the second half of August.
Baba is a natural monument formed by a striking rock promontory on the left bank of the Vltava River. Here you will also find the ruins of a former Renaissance building, from where you can enjoy beautiful views of the center of Prague, Troja and the Vltava River. Just a few meters away is the famous functionalist villa colony Osada Baba, which was awarded the European Heritage Label in 2020 along with other European functionalist buildings.
HOUSLE NATURAL PARK
The Housle natural monument can be found in Lysolaje and there is also a nature trail that will guide you through this monument, which consists of a distinctive geological profile, in the overburden of which are deposited marine sediments from the Upper Cretaceous period. You will learn a lot of interesting information about the history, geology, fauna and flora of this protected area. Don't forget to stop and have a drink at the miraculous well at the beginning.
WILD ŠÁRKA AND ŠÁRECKÉ VALLEY
The Šárecké valley has several parts, starting with the famous Divoká Šárka, where a dramatically undulating landscape full of valleys, trails and rock formations with beautiful views of the surroundings awaits you. It then continues through Jenerálka, through Tichá Šárka with Upper and Lower Šárka in Břetislavka, where, among other things, you can refresh yourself after the trip with a beer from Únětice and a popular burger from Erik Zlámal, which is appreciated by Prague gourmets.
